Limited NVIDIA G80 Supply?

Fudo over at The Inquirer reports that supply of NVIDIA's upcoming G80 GPU (rumored to be the GeForce 8800 series) will be severely limited until the end of the year. Specifically, the cards are expected the first week of November with extremely tight supply in the channel for at least six weeks. Just like in economics class, this will surely teach the market about the law of supply and demand with prices initially going upwards of MSRP until more volume gets into the channel. Then again, fate could smile on us and prices could remain at MSRP or lower. Per usual, time will tell in this case.

G80 chips are selling like hot cakes. Well not in etail or retail, but Nvidia's partners are gagging to get hold of them. Those busy bees are making cards to have them ready for your enjoyment on the 7th of November. As world + dog knows, both G80s, Geforce 8800 GTX and GTS, are going to be performers and ATI won't have any competition to put up against it before Yule, so everyone wants a piece of this cake.
