Logitech G560 Speakers And G513 Mechanical Keyboard Adopt Lightsync RGB Tech

Logitech has added a pair of new computer gaming peripherals to the mix of products in the "G" line. The new devices include the G560 PC Gaming Speaker and the G513 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard. The most interesting of the new peripherals is the speaker system, which features Logitech G Lightsync technology that is able to synchronize light and sound to the gameplay on your screen.

That tech allows the speakers to throw colored RGB light on the wall and area around your gaming monitor to extend the colors on your screen to your environment for more immersive gameplay. Philips did something very similar to this with TVs called Ambilight. The speakers have 240 watts peak/120 watts RMS power and support 3D audio with DTS:X Ultra 1.0 for positional audio in the game.

The lighting system can produce 16.8 million colors with four lighting zones. Connectivity options include USB, 3.5mm, and Bluetooth. Bluetooth means you can switch between audio sources like PC, smartphone, and tablet. The lighting effects also work with video and music content. The G560 speakers will ship next month for $199.99.

The G512 mechanical keyboard also has RGB lighting with Lightsync support. Two versions of the keyboard are offered with both using Romer-G mechanical switches. The two versions use different switches including Romer-G Tactile or Romer-G Linear. The tactile version of the switches offers soft tactile feedback during actuation for gamers preferring direct feedback.

The linear switch version gives a smoother keystroke ,and both version promise to be fast, quiet, and competition grade. The switches actuate up to 25% faster than other switches at 1.5mm distance and have 45g actuation force. The keyboard has a 5052 aluminum top case, a USB passthrough port and palm rest. Logitech will ship the G513 in April for $149.99.

"Our goal with these two products was to complement our G502, the world's best selling gaming mouse," said Ujesh Desai, vice president and general manager of Logitech Gaming. “With LIGHTSYNC technology we are able to add real intelligence to what RGB lighting can do - synchronizing audio and RGB lighting to on-screen gameplay. If you already own a G502, then the new G513 keyboard and G560 speakers with LIGHTSYNC are the perfect way to complete your desktop, and create a totally immersive solution."
