Lumia 900 Smartphone Goes Up for Pre-Order; Free for New Customers

The wait is almost over for Nokia to launch its Lumia 900 smartphone on AT&T, and if you're super anxious to own one, you can start placing your pre-orders now. AT&T has begun accepting pre-orders for the upcoming Windows Phone device, which runs $100 with a 2-year voice agreement with qualifying monthly data plan (it's $450 off contract). Hang with us, the deal gets even better.

We placed a mock order on AT&T's website and were greeted to a surprise message saying, "Your order is scheduled to be shipped on April 5, 2012." That's three full days before the Lumia officially launches. But wait, it gets even better. AT&T is currently running a promotion where you can save up to $100 on new online activations on qualified rate plans of $40 or more. If you take advantage of the offer and pre-order the Lumia 900 using this link, your $100 discount is applied at checkout, making this a free phone, albeit a $36 activation fee still applies.

Alternately, you can pre-order the Lumia 900 at Walmart for $50 with select plans starting at $60/month. Regardless of where you pre-order it from, only Cyan and Black models are available right off the bat; a white model will be released sometime later.

As a refresher, the Lumia 900 features a 4.3-inch ClearBlack AMOLED display, 1.4GHz Snapdragon processor, 8MP rear-facing camera with Carl Zeiss optics, 1MP front-facing camera, 16GB internal memory, and 4G LTE connectivity.
