Luxury Phone Maker Vertu Updates $10K Signature Touch Android Device With Snapdragon 810

Some of the higher end handsets can retail for $650 or more, though compared to some of the handsets sold by Vertu, a luxury phone maker that hand assembles handsets in England, $650 would be a bargain. That's certainly true of Vertu's updated Signature Touch.
Priced at £6,500 (around $9,900 in U.S. currency) and above, the Signature Touch is Vertu's latest high performance smartphone. It boasts a 5.2-inch Full HD 1080p display (428 ppi), Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, microSD card with an included 64GB memory card (expandable up to 2TB), 2.1MP front camera, 21MP rear camera with dual tone flash, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 + Le, and various other bits.
The specs alone don't justify the exorbitant price tag, it's the details that matter. For example, the 5.2-inch display is protected by a 5th generation solid sapphire crystal screen. The phone as a whole is handcrafted with "fine leather and grade 5 titanium."
Signature Touch owners also receive access to Vertu Concierge, a service that includes 24-hour support, recommendations on products, travel arrangements, and help with all sorts of things.
The Signature Touch measures 155mm (L) by 74mm (W) by 10.8mm (D) and weighs 225g to 236g. It will be available around the middle of next month.
