Mad Catz Rises From The Ashes With New Range Of PC Gaming Peripherals
A once popular gaming hardware brand is rising from the ashes after closing up shop last year. We are talking about Mad Catz, which before its surprise departure from the market had been focusing on gaming peripherals for nearly three decades. Now it is back, under new management with "new ideas," a "new attitude," and a new range of "high quality gaming products" that it will showcase at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas next week.
"Known for their award-winning range of R.A.T. gaming mice, arcade FightSticks, gaming headsets and much more besides, the new Mad Catz will focus first on quality, committed to producing innovative gaming products, designed and engineered in-house to stand out amongst the competition and deliver superlative performance for gamers of all abilities," Mad Catz stated in a press release announcing its return.
It is not clear exactly how many new products Mad Catz will have on tap for its return, though it will be at least three. They include the R.A.T. Air, an all-new version of the iconic and fully-adjustable gaming mouse, upgraded with a state-of-the-art wireless power system; a S.T.R.I.K.E.4 gaming keyboard with mechanical key switches, aluminum frame, and RGB lighting; and the F.R.E.Q.4, a new gaming headset with 40mm neodymium drivers and a metal plated frame.
Mad Catz did not go into a lot of details about its new gear, saying it will announce more specs and potentially other upcoming products at CES.

"Through listening to gamers worldwide, we plan to once again forge a path of innovation in the gaming hardware community, and we’re already working on delivering products which we believe will enhance gamers’ abilities and do justice to the Mad Catz name. We can’t wait to unveil a little more at CES 2018 and in the months to come."
Just as fans probably didn't foresee Mad Catz headed towards bankruptcy in 2017 (there were signs), the company's resurrection has seemingly come out of nowhere as well. At the time of its bankruptcy, a Chinese holding company purchased most of its assets. It's now been spun off into Mad Catz Global Limited
