Live With Maingear's Killer R1 Razer Edition Gaming PC And A Chance To Win An MG Rig At PAX East
This particular boutique gaming desktop was painted with a custom automotive finish (in this case, the Lime Green that you’d find on a Dodge Challenger Hellcat) and there are plenty of other custom touches throughout, including the custom liquid cooling system, which has hand-cut polished nickel-plated metal tubing.
The R1 Razer Edition also features what Maingear calls a “Triple Parallel Cooling Loop”, which has two independent lines coming off the pump, with one heading to the processor and one heading towards the GPUs. The line then splits again, giving an independent line to each GPU. And one other fun fact; the metal tubing can also dissipate some heat, which will aid in cooling performance.
When it comes down to brass tacks, Maingear has outfitted the Maingear R1 Razer Edition with an Intel Core i7-7700K processor (overclocked to 5GHz) paired 32GB of Kingston HyperX memory along with both Intel 600P and 750 Series NVMe SSDs to handle your storage needs. The system that was shown to our team on the floor at PAX East 2017, was also sporting dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 GPUs in SLI (although you can splurge for dual GTX 1080 TIs if you’re so inclined).
When you visit Maingear’s actual site, you’ll also see that you’re not limited to Intel’s processors for R1 Razer Edition builds; you can also select from a range of AMD Ryzen processors (including the scintillating R7 1800X) and X370-based AM4 motherboards.
