Maingear Updates eX-L 15 Gaming Notebook With Core i7 And HD 5870 GPU
If you're in the market for a new loaded gaming notebook, but you don't want a huge 17" screen to lug around, Maingear might have something that's right down your alley. The revamped eX-L 15 is built to handle the latest gaming titles at the highest resolutions, but don't expect it to last too long when away from the wall outlet.
The machine features a 15" HD display (native 1080p screen), DirectX 11 support courtesy of an ATI Radeon HD 5870 GPU and options for Core i5 and Core i7 processors. There's also DVI, HDMI, and S/PDIF audio out, along with eSATA, FireWire four USB ports and a webcam. To combat an overheating lap, MAINGEAR implemented a dual heatpipe cooling design for both the CPU and GPU with Artic Cooling thermal paste. Users will also find a dedicated number pad, Windows 7 Premium, DVD and Blu-ray options as well as a cheaper 1600x900 panel if the 1080p one is too rich for you.
It's available to customize starting today at $1599.
