Mario Kart Tour Launch Date Set For September 25 On Android And iOS

Nintendo fans wanting a new game to play on their iPhone or Android device will be glad to hear that Mario Kart Tour finally has a launch date. The game will land for both platforms on September 25. The launch date for the game was tipped by the game's Apple App Store page and by tweets from Nintendo.

The game will see Mario and his pals racing around the world with courses inspired by real-world cities and classic Mario Kart courses. Destinations will be featured in tours that rotate every two weeks. Some of the characters will get variations that feature local flavor.

The game brags about the ability to play it with one finger allowing players to steer, drift, and sling items at enemies. A new Frenzy Mode gives players an unlimited supply of a certain item and makes them invincible for a short time.Players can collect badges, karts, drivers, and gliders.

Mario Kart Tour also has bonus challenge courses where coming in first place isn't the goal. In those races, the bonus challenge depends on completing specific tasks in the game. Players will be ranked against other players globally.

Mario Kart Tour requires a Nintendo account to play, and the game is free-to-play with optional in-game purchases offered. Players interested in the game can add to their wishlist on Google Play, pre-order on the App Store, and pre-register on the official game site here. The beta for the game was announced for Android in April.
