MGM Titles Now On iTunes

PRNewsWire is reporting that Apple and MGM have reached an agreement that will allow iTunes users to download a wide variety of MGM's current and past films:

"LOS ANGELES and CUPERTINO, Calif., April 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. (MGM) and Apple today announced that MGM is now offering titles from its prestigious catalog of feature films for purchase and download on the iTunes(R) Store (http://www.itunes.com). Beginning today, iTunes customers will be able to purchase legendary films such as "Dances With Wolves," "Mad Max," "The Great Train Robbery" and "Rocky," with other titles to be added in the coming weeks. MGM has the largest modern film library in the world and has received 208 Academy Awards in its history, making it one of the biggest award winning collections of films in the world."

It is very nice to see this type of technology picking up steam and support from the major players in Hollywood.  If this trend continues, you might one day amaze your grandchildren with tales of how you actually had to leave the house to buy movies way back in early part of the 21st century.
