Microsoft 365 Enterprise Bundles Windows 10 And Office Subscriptions For Business Customers

Roughly a year after Microsoft launched its rather dryly named Secure Productive Enterprise cloud services bundle, the company today is launching its successor, which has snazzier branding.

Microsoft 365 was announced today at the Microsoft Inspire 2017, which is expected to draw over 17,000 attendees, with Microsoft 365 Enterprise replacing Secure Productive Enterprise. Microsoft 365 Enterprise includes Windows 10 Enterprise, Office 365 Enterprise, and Enterprise Mobility + Security. In addition, Microsoft will offer both E3 and E5 pricing plans, both of which will be available beginning August 1st.

Microsoft 365 Business, on the other hand, includes Office 365 Business Premium, security/management features for Office and Windows 10 devices, and Enterprise Mobility + Security. Microsoft 365 Business is being aimed at businesses with up to 300 users and will be available this fall priced at $20 per user. However, small-to-medium business that would like to try out this latest offering early will get their chance with a public preview beginning August 2nd.

“The workplace is transforming—from changing employee expectations, to more diverse and globally distributed teams, to an increasingly complex threat landscape,” writes Microsoft’s Kirk Koenigsbauer. “Our customers are telling us they are looking to empower their people with innovative technology to embrace this modern culture of work.

“With more than 100 million commercial monthly active users of Office 365, and more than 500 million Windows 10 devices in use, Microsoft is in a unique position to help companies empower their employees, unlocking business growth and innovation.”

Microsoft Inspire 2017, which this year is taking place in Washington, D.C., also served as the launching point for the Azure Stack, which will provide a hybrid cloud environment for integrated systems from Dell EMC, HPE, and Lenovo (system will begin shipping this September).
