One of the best features on the Xbox One was just released this past fall as part of the New Xbox One Experience (NXOE). In addition to providing a Windows 10-based software platform and new community features, the NXOE also brought with it backwards compatible support for Xbox 360 games.

Xbox One Backwards Compatibility debuted with a healthy 104 titles in November, and Microsoft increased that number by 16 in mid-December. Now, one month later, Microsoft is expanding the list by 10 with the following titles:

  • The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings
  • Sam & Max Save the World
  • Aegis Wing
  • Counter-Strike: GO
  • Age of Booty
  • Space Giraffe
  • Soulcalibur
  • Skullgirls
  • Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad
  • Small Arms

It should be noted that Microsoft says going forward, it will no longer stick to a monthly launch date where it releases a dozen or so games at a time. Instead, it will release new games immediately after each has “received the engineering and publisher stamp of approval.”

Microsoft has also been extremely pleased with the community interest in Xbox One Backwards Compatibility, with the Xbox Wire Staff writing, “Fan feedback is essential in shaping the Xbox experience, and it was integral in making Xbox One Backward Compatibility a reality. To date, millions of your fellow Xbox gamers around the world have already logged more than 21 million hours playing Xbox One Backward Compatibility games – and we’re continuing to listen.”

We should also mention one more added bonus that Microsoft is throwing in this month. Microsoft is making The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings a free download for all Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners. The freebie offer is available until February 5th in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France and Germany.
