Microsoft Continues Entry-Level Assault With Launch Of Lumia 435, Lumia 532
If it's a low cost, entry-level handset you're after, Microsoft's Lumia line is quickly becoming the obvious choice. At the very least, it's one of the more prominent options, as Microsoft continues to breed an increasing number of lower end smartphones into its Lumia family, including two new devices announced today -- the Lumia 435 and Lumia 523.
The Lumia 435 is Microsoft's first ever 400-series device and the most affordable Lumia to date. What does that translate into in terms of hardware and features? Well, it starts with a 4-inch WVGA (800x480; 233 ppi) display powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz and 1GB of RAM. It also sports 8GB of built-in storage flanked by a microSD card slot, 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera, 2-megapixel rear-facing camera, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5G cellular, removable battery, and Windows Phone 8.1

Microsoft's Lumia 532 is a bit more potent, though still at the lower end of the smartphone spectrum. Like the 435, it wields a 4-inch display WVGA display and shares many of the same hardware features, though the processor has been bumped to a quad-core part (also clocked at 1.2GHz) and the rear camera is 5 megapixels.

Both handsets come with Microsoft's Office suit (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote), Outlook for email, Skype integration, HERE location services, up to 30GB of free cloud storage on OneDrive, and of course access to the Windows Phone store.
The Lumia 435 and Lumia 532 will be available in February in Europe, Asia-Pacific, India, the Middle East, and Africa. Pricing for the former will be 69 euros (~$81) while the latter will cost 79 euros (~$93).
