Microsoft Enables Skype Voice Translation Calling In Latest Windows 10 Insider Skype Preview

Windows Insiders will simply need to have the latest Insider Preview build of Windows 10 installed along with the Skype Preview app. Once those requirements are met, you need to punch in the number you’d like to dial, after which a Skype Translator button will appear (this will give you access to language options during the call).

Once you place the call, the person on the other end will hear a message telling them that the call is being recorded. From there, you can enjoy your conversation and the perks of the translator functionality. Microsoft says that the following languages are supported in this build of the Skype Preview: English, Spanish, French, German, Chinese, Italian, Portuguese, Arabic, and Russian.

In addition to opening up Skype Translator for landline and mobile calls, Microsoft has included the ability to introduce friends and family via sharing their contact details and the ability to forward your Skype calls to a mobile or landline number — you will, however, need a Skype Credits or a subscription to Skype for the latter feature. You’ll also be able to capture and share video messages and mark conversations as read or unread.
