Microsoft Knocks Another $100 Off Original Surface Pro

This summer, Microsoft cut the price of its Surface Pro tablets by $100, and now it’s dropping the cost again by another hundo. The 64GB Surface Pro is now $699, and the 128GB version is $799. Both prices are for the tablet only--Touch or Type Covers are still extra. Regular Surface models, which run Windows RT, are $349 (32GB), $399 (64GB), and $449 (64GB with Touch Cover).

Microsoft is just clearing out its leftover inventory of original Surface Pro tablets here to make way for the Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2, which we’ve covered extensively and went on sale earlier this week.

If you’re interested in a Surface Pro tablet, this is a good chance to snap one up at a nice discount. The Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 look like serious generational upgrades, but the original Surface Pro still has plenty of solid features and specs, including a 3rd-generation Intel Core i5 processor, 10-point multitouch display, 4GB of RAM, ample storage, and Windows 8.
