Here's How To Manually Install Windows 10 Creators Update Direct From Microsoft Right Now

Windows 10
Microsoft is set to release the Windows 10 Creators Update to the public on April 11th, but if you are the impatient type, you can grab it right now. Microsoft has already confirmed that Build 15063 is the Release to Manufacturing (RTM) build and you can download it early using two different methods.

No matter which current build of Windows 10 you are using, the Windows 10 Update Assistant will get you to the RTM build with minimal fuss.

All you need to do is download the tool, run the .exe file and click a few buttons to get things moving.

If you’d prefer to perform a clean install of the Windows 10 Creators Update, you have that option as well. But you will instead need to download the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool. This tool will then walk you through the steps of creating a bootable USB flash drive to install the operating system, or allow you to download the ISO directly to your computer to later burn as a DVD.

While both of these tools will get you to the RTM build of the Windows 10 Creators Update, there are still other smaller updates that need to be installed to get you completely up-to-date. Cumulative Update Build 15063.13 is already making its way out through Windows Update (if you have already installed Build 15063), and tackles the following last-minute glitches:

  • Addressed issue with Windows audio devicegraph isolation burning CPU-endless loop due to defective APOs.
  • Addressed installation issue with V3 XPS-based printer connections from non-1703 clients to 1703.
  • Addressed issue with Surface USB: Bluetooth radio sometimes fails to re-enumerate during hibernate/resume.
  • Addressed issue with virus protection product driver install triggering a system crash on build 15060 configured with DeviceGuard.

It’s very likely that there will be additional updates between now and when Microsoft officially sends the Windows 10 Creators Update out though the official Windows Update mechanism.

“The Creators Update is designed to spark and unleash creativity, bringing 3D and mixed reality to everyone and enabling every gamer to be a broadcaster,” said Yusuf Mehdi, Corporate Vice President for the Windows and Devices Group, last week when announcing the availability of the Windows 10 Creators Update. “Beyond creativity, it brings new features to Microsoft Edge, additional security capabilities and privacy tools, and so much more.”

Earlier today, Microsoft announced a number of measures that it is taking with the Windows 10 Creators Update to ensure that consumers are well informed and in control of their private data.
