Microsoft to Support Customers Running Linux With Virtual Server 2005 R2

Today Microsoft has announced they will provide technical support for running Linux distributions with Windows using their Virtual Server 2005 R2 software. They've also made Virtual Server 2005 R2 a free download, where as they used to charge a fee based on the amount of physical processors.

""We've made a long-term commitment to make sure that non-Windows operating systems can be run in a supported manner, both on top of Virtual Server and our future virtualization products," said Zane Adam, director of Windows Server product marketing, in a statement."

No joke, it's April 3rd.
