Microsoft's Surface Pro X Windows On ARM Convertible Rocks Hot $200 Price Cut
Despite the ARM processor, the Surface Pro X provides the full Windows 10 experience and for the most part has good compatibility with legacy x86-32 apps. Throw in a brilliant PixelSense display and fanless design, and you have a lightweight workhorse for those that have a daily workload that isn't overly CPU intensive.
One big knock against the Surface Pro X -- by some -- has been its price tag, which is a bit on the high side compared to its x86-based competition. Microsoft is making amends on this front thanks to price cuts of up to $200. If you are looking for a 256GB or 512GB model, you'll get the full $200 discount, while those that opt for the 128GB model receive a $100 discount.
That means that the base price of the Surface Pro X drops from $999 to a more palatable $899. Opting for the Surface Pro X with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage now runs $1,099 instead of $1,299. On the other end of the spectrum, the range-topping 16GB SKU with a 512GB SSD is priced at $1,599 instead of $1,799.
All of these prices are available directly from Microsoft's online store right now. Or if you prefer, Amazon is also selling the Surface Pro X with the same discounted prices:
