Microsoft's Windows Phone Marketplace: Now Home To 70,000 Apps

70,000. On one hand, it's a nice round number, but on the other, it's not the nicest of round numbers. No matter; Windows Phone can now lay claim to a whopping 70,000 apps. While Google Play (formerly known as the Android Market) and the App Store both have many, many more than that, this is still a notable milestone for Microsoft. Being third place in the smartphone ecosystem isn't a fun place to be, and convincing developers to invest in building apps for it is similarly difficult.

Still, jumping from 50k to 70k in just a few months is a fairly big deal, and with Windows 8 on the horizon, Microsoft's other platforms (included Windows Phone) will surely get a bit of that spotlight. Have you developed any of those 70k? Plan on downloading any of them?
