M.O.J.O Android Console Adds Ouya Content With “Ouya Everywhere” Initiative
Oddly, it seems like it’s been a while since the Ouya Android gaming console felt truly compelling after a whirlwind Kickstarter honeymoon, fundraising explosion, and emergence of the device as a Real Thing, but the company is trying to change that with its “Ouya Everywhere” initiative.
Basically, Ouya Everywhere is a way to embed the Ouya platform into other devices. It makes sense to do so, considering that Ouya has hundreds of titles now and could use any exposure it can get wherever it can get it.
Mad Catz M.O.J.O.
The first Ouya Everywhere partner is Mad Catz, which has its own M.O.J.O. Android-based microconsole. Ouya content will be available on the M.O.J.O later this spring. As part of the promotion, Mad Catz is dropping the price of the M.O.J.O. down to $199.99.
Ouya just recently outed a revised console of its own with 16GB of onboard storage for $129. The original cost $99.

These little Android consoles are very cool, but they’re missing that killer element that makes them must-have devices. There are just so many options out there, between blockbuster games on commensurate consoles (i.e., Xbox One and PS4) and a huge array of titles you can play on your Android or iOS smartphone or tablet, that the Ouyas and M.O.J.O.s are having a tough go of it.
Ouya, for its part, is an open platform that has apps that let you stream movies, music, and TV shows. Having the ability to access the platform on other devices should help a bit, too.
