Motorola Moto X4 Photo Leak Confirms Dual Cameras And Aluminum Unibody

For about the past year, Lenovo subsidiary Motorola has been concentrating on its flagship Moto Z line of smartphones. However, it is getting ready to end the calendar year with a new handset, one that will target the mid-range market. That phone is the Moto X4 (previously referred to as the Moto X 2017) and thanks to famed leaker Evan Blass (known as @evleaks on Twitter), we have our first real look at the device.

Blass tweeted out what looks to be an official press rendering of the Moto X4. There are two things the leaked photo appear to confirm. One is an aluminum unibody design and the other is a dual camera setup on the rear of the smartphone. We can also see a physical home button on the front, which is said to include an integrated fingerprint scanner. Have a look:
It is a premium looking handset, but what about the specs? Citing an "informed individual," VentureBeat says many of the previously rumored specs floating around the web are wrong. To set the record straight, the site's source says the phone will feature a 5.2-inch display with a 1920x1080 resolution powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor with all eight cores chugging along at 2.2GHz.

The Moto X4 will also come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that users will be able to expand upon via microSD.

Users will be able to take detailed selfies with a reported 16-megapixel camera on the front of the Moto X4. Around back will be 8-megapixel and 12-megapixel cameras to allow for fancy depth-of-focus effects. On paper at the very least, this is an impressive lineup of cameras for a mid-range handset.

The Moto X4 will also be IP68 certified to protect the internal hardware from water and dust. It is presumed that the 3,000 mAh battery will not be removable as a result, though that is a common trend these days, especially on handsets with premium-looking designs.

It was previously rumored that the Moto X4 would be compatible with Google's Project Fi. That still appears to be the case, which means that Project Fi customers will have a cheaper alternative to the current Pixel and Pixel XL, assuming the Moto X4 ends up costing less.
