Motorola Titanium Coming To Sprint July 24 For $150 On Contract
Believe it or not, the Nextel network lives on. Nextel Direct Connect (also known by old-timers as "the chirp") is back in Sprint's latest Android phone, the Motorola Titanium. It's an Android 2.1 device, so not the freshest OS-wise, but it offers more durability than most other smartphones on the market today. Outside of offering push-to-talk capabilities, the successor to the popular Motorola i1 brings a QWERTY keyboard, a 3.1" touchscreen, military-spec chassis (810G for dust, shock, vibration, low pressure, solar radiation, high temperature and low temperature) as well as Android Market access.
On the back, there's a 5MP camera, and internally there's 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, stereo Bluetooth, GPS, a microSD slot (2GB included) and an 1820mAh Li-ion battery. It'll ship on July 24th for $149.99 on a 2-year contract, and to date, may well be the nicest Android phone out there that can withstand the rigors of working in the field.
