‘Mozart In The Jungle’ Kicks Off Amazon Instant Video HDR Streaming
Mozart in the Jungle is the first series to be made available in HDR, and according to Amazon, you can expect greater contrast to the screen with bright colors, enhanced shadow details, and distinct highlights for a superior viewing experience. Just as HDR can make still pictures pop, Amazon says HDR video results in more vivid and lifelike images on your big screen.
In addition to the full first season of Mozart in the Jungle, Amazon Prime members can also view the pilot episode of Red Oaks in HDR. More series and movies will be added at a later date, though Amazon didn't which ones or provide a specific time frame.
Winning the race to HDR gives Amazon bragging rights over competing services like Netflix, at least for now. That said, you'll need a compatible Samsung SUHD television to enjoy the content in HDR, the least expensive of which runs nearly $3,500 on Amazon.
