Mozilla Releases Native ARM64 Firefox Browser For Snapdragon Windows 10 PCs, Get It Here

But in order to win customers over, there needs to be an abundance of native apps for the Windows 10 on ARM platform to deliver on the performance front. To that end Mozilla announced today that it has released a beta of the native ARM64 version of its popular Firefox browser. That means that if you’re running a Windows 10 device that is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 or Snapdragon 850 SoCs, you’ll be able to dive right in with Firefox on ARM goodness.

In addition to the potentially huge battery life gains afforded by ARM processors running Windows 10, all of these Snapdragon-powered devices have LTE-connectivity which allows you to be connected whenever you’re on-the-go.

Mozilla isn’t the only company working on native Windows 10 on ARM browsers. Google and Microsoft are contributing to Chromium to ensure that both Chrome and Microsoft Edge browser deliver peak performance (and efficiency) for Snapdragon-powered Windows 10 systems.

Although Windows 10 on ARM laptops and convertibles haven’t exactly been a sales success in the past two years, Qualcomm hopes to change that with Snapdragon 8cx Compute Platform. Devices based around this SoC are expected to provide a huge leap in performance thanks to an octa-core Kryo 495 CPU and Adreno 680 GPU. In addition, the SoC includes a Snapdragon X24 2Gbps LTE modem.

The first systems using the new Snapdragon 8cx Compute Platform will be delivered in the third quarter.
