MSI Aegis And Nightblade Gaming Desktops Thrive On Kaby Lake And GeForce GTX 10 Power

To go along with Intel’s Kaby Lake refresh, MSI has revised its gaming desktops, making slight tweaks that will be appreciated by gamers. The changes affect the Aegis, Nightblade and Trident series, all of which are rocking GeForce GTX 10-Series graphics cards.

Design-wise, the Aegis now includes a handy headset holder on the side along with a carbon fiber-esque pattern that is applied sparingly to the front of the chassis. MSI VR Link gives you quick access to a front-mounted HDMI port, which is a boon for those using HTC Vive or Oculus Rift VR headsets.  You’ll also find a handle on the back of the machine, allowing you to easily transport it to LAN parties or to competitive eSports events.

The Aegis Ti3 can be equipped with up to two MSI GeForce GTX 1080 GAMING graphics cards in SLI and supports up to 64GB of RAM. It can also accommodate two 3.5-inch HDDs, one 2.5-inch HDD/SSD and three NVMe PCI SSDs.

Pricing hasn’t been announced for the Aegis family, but it will be available later in January.

Moving on to the Nightblade Series, this news models also feature revised exteriors and interiors. Outside, you’ll find a front-mounted carrying handle, and easy access to your PC’s innards thanks to removable left, right, and top panels. Like the Aegis Series, you’ll also find MSI VR Link front and center. Both the Nightblade 3 and Nightblade MI3 feature RGB Mystic Lighting, which allows you to give a personal touch to your gaming rig.

On the inside, MSI Silent Storm cooling is employed to keep your hardware as cool as possible, as you can configure the Nightblade 3 with up to a Core i7-7700 along with an MSI GeForce GTX 1070 GAMING 8G graphics card. Specs for the series can be found below:

The Nightblade Series will be available shortly, but pricing hasn’t been announced.

Finally, for those that require a more compact gaming rig, there’s the Trident 3, which is available with either a Core i5-7400 or Core i7-7000 processor. Backed by an Intel H110 chipset, the Trident 3 supports up to 32GB of RAM, one 2.5-inch HDD/SSD and one M.2 SATA SSD. MSI offers it own GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card in the Trident 3, in either 3GB or 6GB versions.
