Gigabyte AORUS RBG DDR4 Memory, Gold PSU And M5 Mouse Debut At Computex
Gigabyte is pulling the covers off some new gaming peripherals and other PC component hardware at Computex 2018. One of the products is the company's new AORUS RGB gaming RAM. The memory is a 16GB kit using a pair of DDR4 8GB DIMMs. It operates up to clock speeds of 3200 MHz with has timings of 16-18-18-38.
Voltage is 1.2V standard and when XMP is enabled 1.35V is consumed. The DDR4 DRAM chips employed are Samsung B die parts and the sticks are fitted with a fancy looking symmetric high-efficiency heat spreader. The RGB LED lights on the RAM supports 5 DDR light effects. Gigabyte says that the RAM is 100% binned and tested with a limited lifetime warranty.
For gamers and enthusiasts who don’t want unlit, empty slots on their motherboard, but also don’t want to cough up the money for two of the 16GB kits, Gigabyte does offer "demo modules" that have RGB lighting only and allows the user to populate all four memory slots with spare dummy sticks. The memory and dummy sticks are compatible with Gigabyte AORUS RGB Fusion software. The RAM will launch at the end of June for $229.
Gigabyte also has new power supplies in the AORUS line with the AORUS Gold PSU that has an 80 Plus Gold certification for up to 90% efficiency at 50% load. A fully modular design means no wires that you don’t need hanging around, and Gigabyte employs 100% Japanese capacitors in the PSU. Cooling is a single 135mm ball bearing smart fan with fan stop functions. Other features include a single +12V rail.
Finally, a new AORUS mouse called the AORUS M5 has also debuted, that mouse has a 16000DPI optical sensor and supports up to 400 ips and 50G acceleration. The buttons are 50-million click Omron units. DPI can be adjusted on the fly and the mouse has onboard storage and is fully programmable. Weight is adjustable to whatever the user wants from 118g up to 130.5g. An M3 mouse has a 6400-dpi optical sensor, and 20 million click Omron switches. Both mice have RGB lighting effects.
Gigabyte also has a line of mouse pads in the AORUS line priced at $30 to $50. The AORUS H5 headset has 50mm Beryllium, metal drivers, RGB customizable lights, and a detachable mic boom. Rounding out the AORUS AC300W PC case has customizable lighting, transparent side window, HDMI and USB-C ports, a PSU shroud, and a detachable dust filter.
