Motherboard manufacturers have been relatively mum about their plans for AMD's incoming third-generation Ryzen Threadripper 3000 processors, but there have been a number of leaks regardless. This time around, MSI has left one of its upcoming TRX40 motherboards lurking in plain sight on its website.

MSI let the cat out of the bag on a promotional page that describes how you can get a $25 Steam promotional credit for submitting a review for one of its products. MSI notebooks, desktop, monitors, and motherboards are eligible, but it is what was found under the latter category that caught our eye.

MSI listed the Creator TRX40 motherboard, which so far is an unannounced product. The hardware manufacturer eventually realized that it jumped the gun, and removed the product from its list of eligible motherboards (however not before an image of the listing was captured).

The Creator TRX40 will join a number of other MSI motherboards for Ryzen Threadripper 3000 processors that leaked in early September. The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) leaked the existence of the TRX40 PRO 10G and TRX40 PRO WIFI.

At this time, it is presumed that TRX40 motherboards will be compatible with Ryzen Threadripper 3000 TRX4 HEDT processors. TRX4 processors will support quad-channel DDR4-3200 memory (two DIMMs per channel) and up to 64 PCIe 4.0 lanes.

AMD has already confirmed that the first Ryzen Threadripper 3000 processors will arrive in November, with the most potent offering at launch being a 24-core/48-thread configuration.
