MSI Reveals 15.6" X620MX and 14" CX420MX Notebooks With Core 2010 CPUs
No one should ever criticize MSI for not pumping out enough notebooks; in fact, we wonder if the company isn't hurting themselves somewhat with all of these models. Then again, Asus never had trouble selling through Eee PC units, despite having dozens and dozens of variations available.
Following up on a number of recent releases, MSI is bolstering their C Series of laptops with two new ones: a 15.6" X620MX and 14" CX420MX. Both of these utilize Intel's new Core 2010 line of processors, and ATI's Mobility Radeon HD 545v (512MB) GPU. So basically, the main difference between these is the screen size; one is perfect as a mainstream laptop, one is perfect as a slightly larger than usual ultraportable.
Both machines also support DDR3 RAM (2 slots), and both have a 1366x768 resolution. So the 15.6" machine won't gain you any extra screen real estate, it'll just make the icons and text a little easier to read. Finally, there's a 4-in-1 card reader, 250GB/320GB/500GB hard drive, HDMI/VGA outputs, three USB 2.0 ports, microphone input, headphone output, Ethernet, a 6-cell battery, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and a 1.3MP camera. No price or release details have been released just yet.
