MSI’s Limited Edition Trident 3 Arctic Gaming PC Touts Kaby Lake, GeForce GTX 1070 Firepower

If you were a big fan of MSI's original Trident 3 gaming PC, then you might want to take a look at what the PC enthusiast company is delivering this time around with its follow-up offering: the "Frosty" Limited Edition Trident 3 Arctic.

MSI released its first Trident 3 gaming PC earlier this year, and for its efforts won an IF Design Award. It's not hard to see why: the PC is downright beautiful, and despite its smaller size, it offers plenty of airflow to make sure your expensive components don't overheat.

MSI Arctic Trident 3 Frost PC

The limited edition Trident 3 Arctic sports an upgrade to both the CPU and GPU. Under the hood is NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 1070, a graphics card capable of delivering awesome 1440p gaming, and light 4K gaming. Cuddling up beside it is some Kaby Lake lovin' in the form of the Intel Core i7-7700.

Other important hardware includes a 256GB M.2 solid-state drive, a 1TB 7200RPM mechanical drive, and 16GB of DDR4-2400 memory (which can be upgraded to 32GB). The included 330W power supply will offer more than enough juice to keep this rig running well.

MSI Arctic Trident 3 Frost PC Back Front

This PC doesn't just have a lot of power: it has a lot of functionality. Up front are two audio jacks alongside dual USB 3.1 gen 1 Type-A ports, a single Type-C USB 3.1 port, as well as an HDMI port dedicated for VR use. Yup - this PC can do VR, but that's no surprise given the included GPU.

To emphasize how much MSI cares about VR, two additional HDMI ports are found at the back along with four USB 2.0 ports, one USB 3.1 gen 1 port, LAN, and audio. If the two HDMI ports above are not enough to satiate your appetite, the GPU offers up two more HDMI ports, as well as a DVI and dual DisplayPorts.

If you like the cut of the Trident 3 Arctic's jib, then prepare to haul out $1,499.99 and hit up Newegg, Amazon, Microsoft, or Fry's beginning next month.
