MSI GeForce RTX 2070 Gaming X Breaks Cover Early With RGB Goodness
If the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti are too rich for your blood, the company's "entry-level" GeForce RTX 2070 will launch later this month. Priced from $499 for third-party cards, the GeForce RTX 2070 could find a home in many gaming rigs. Enter the MSI GeForce RTX 2070 Gaming X, which has a dual fan cooling solution, rather than the triple fan cooling solution some RTX 2070 cards utilize (a la the ASUS ROG Strix RTX 2070).
The MSI GeForce RTX 2070 Gaming X is a dual-slot video card, which might make this appealing to gamers who need a decent video card that can fit into a case that lacks the space for a thicker triple slot card. MSI fits the card with bands of RBG lighting; which we're assuming will be user-selectable.
If this MSI card doesn’t float your boat, ASUS has a couple other GeForce RTX 2070 video cards along with that ROG Strix version mentioned before. It has the GeForce RTX 2070 Dual that is a thicker 2.7-slot card using a larger heatsink to keep the GPU cool; ASUS also has the GeForce RTX 2070 Turbo video card. NVIDIA confirmed not long ago that the GeForce RTX 2070 would launch October 17 starting at $499 ($599 for the Founders Edition). While specifications for the MSI Geforce RTX 2070 Gaming X aren't detailed; we do know the tech specs for the GeForce RTX 2070 in general.
NVIDIA's specs for GeForce RTX 2070 cards include 2034 CUDA cores with a base clock of 1410MHz. The 8GB of GDDR5 memory the card uses has a 256-bit memory interface and effective bandwidth of 448GB/sec. None of the GeForce RTX 2070 cards will offer SLI capability; gamers will need to step up to the GeForce RTX 2080 or 2080Ti to gain support for multiple video cards.
