MSI Teases Upcoming AMD X570 Ryzen 3000 Gaming Motherboards Packed With Killer Features
All of those Encyclopedia Brown books I read as a youngster are now paying off. How is that? Well, MSI posted a partially cryptic image on Twitter that, if you don your detective cap like I have done, reveals itself to be a teaser of one of the company's unreleased X570 motherboards for AMD's upcoming Ryzen 3000 series processors. Let's look at the evidence, shall we?
Before we get to the image, here's what we know: AMD is prepping a new round of Ryzen processors based on its third-generation Zen architecture, called Zen 2 (the previous two generations include current Zen+ and last generation Zen). AMD plans to at least talk about Zen 2 (and Navi, on the GPU side) during Computex next month, which likely means the event will serve as a launchpad for the company's new chips.
We also know that AMD is prepping a new X570 chipset, and that is what the image appears to represent. Here's a look at the tweet...

There are two parts to this moving image. The first is the pic of the motherboard, with most of the bits darkened out. There's a spinning fan behind it, which I'm not sure what that is all about. However, the numbers tell the story. "Can you decode the hidden meanings of the numbers 5, 6, 7?," MSI writes. Why yes, yes I can.
The 5 and 7 are both the same color, and point to X570. In between sits the number 6, in white, with a Wi-Fi symbol above above it. That points to Wi-Fi 6 connectivity (or 802.11ax).
Need further proof? At a couple of points during the short 6-second clip, another image ever-so-briefly appears, as shown above. The number 3,000 is splashed across the screen, a clear reference to AMD's Ryzen 3000 series. So here's what we have...

- Wi-Fi 6 connectivity
- Ryzen 3000 series support
It's not a tough code to crack. In this particular case, we also see MEG and Ace written on the visible parts of the motherboard. So in all likelihood, MSI is giving us a glimpse of its MEG X570 Ace motherboard, with onboard Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. Maybe it will be called MEG X570 Ace WIFI 6. Robust cooling and overclocking controls are reasonable expectations as well.
Whatever it ends up being called, you can bet that MSI will have a full lineup of X570 motherboards when the time comes. Given that it's begun teasing out boards based on the upcoming chipset, a launch at Computex seems all the more likely.
MSI will not be the only one, either. There have been numerous X570 leaks, including an extensive lineup from ASUS comprising its TUF Gaming, Pro, Prime, and ROG/Strix series. In addition to supporting 7nm Ryzen 3000 series CPUs out of the box, one thing all X570 motherboards will have in common (if past leaks are true) is PCIe 4.0 support, which will offer more bandwidth for graphics and NVMe drives. Beyond that, we will have to wait and see.
