MSI's U110 ECO Wind Netbook Goes 9 Hours Strong

Man, if MSI doesn't stop popping out new notebooks, people are seriously going to have a tough time deciding whether to jump in now or wait all the way until tomorrow to see what's "just around the bend." As the flood of new MSI machines amazingly continues, the U110 ECO has become the freshest of the fresh for the moment. Not surprisingly, it seems this machine is MSI's answer to Asus' long-lasting Eee PC 1000HE, as it boasts a nine hour maximum battery life and is based on the power-sipping Intel Menlow platform.

Unlike the company's U115 Hybrid, this rig includes just a standard 2.5" HDD (and not an SSD), which makes the battery claims that much more astounding. Other specifications include a 10" LCD (with a 1024 x 600 resolution), 1.6GHz Atom Z530 processor, an ATI Mobility Radeon HD3200 graphics set, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, a 160GB SATA hard drive, 3- / 6-cell battery, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 (optional), a 1.3-megapixel webcam and two built-in speakers. You'll also get three USB 2.0 sockets, a microphone input, headphone output, Ethernet port and a VGA video output.

Much to our dismay, MSI hasn't provided a price or release date yet, so for now, we wait.
