Mushkin Reluctantly Closes Online Shop, Concentrating on Distributors

Coming just a tad too late to be an April Fool's prank is an announcement by Mushkin saying that it will no longer sell individual parts direct to the customer on its website. It's a bit of bummer to see Mushkin close its online shop, especially when the occasional coupon/promotional code would roll into view and trump any third-party sellers, but demand has been such that Mushkin has decided its customers will be better served by concentrating its efforts on the middlemen.

"Beginning April 3rd, 2012, Mushkin will no longer sell individual parts direct online," Mushkin announced on its website as well as on its Facebook page. "We value the personal interaction with customers which online sales have given us, but because of the large volume of parts Mushkin delivers to enthusiasts around the globe, we have decided to concentrate our efforts on serving our distributors and resellers in numerous territories. We will maintain as always our commitment to producing the highest quality memory modules and flash storage devices available, and we will also continue our top-notch support."

The good news here is that Mushkin isn't going out of business or anything like that, the company is simply putting a stop to online sales on its own website.

Mushkin, in case you're not familiar with the name, cranks out all types of memory products, including all types of system memory, solid state drives, USB thumb drives, and SD/microSD cards.
