Google H840 Media Streaming Device Arrives at FCC
Google I/O has come and gone, and while the company certainly made waves, those waves were a lot calmer than in past years. Many were wondering in particular about the ill-fated Nexus Q. The glowing, spinning, streaming orb was a major part of last year's keynote, but it shortly went out of stock and hasn't been heard from since. Google didn't even mention the Q this year, let alone provide information about an update or revamp.
But just days after Google I/O closed up shop, there's this: a new FCC filing from Google showcasing an "H840 device," which is believed to be a streaming product. There's also a pretty clever reference to the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, which is typical Google. The only other details are confirming of an 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi radio, so the vast majority remains a mystery.
Still, it's not often that Google itself floats a new piece of hardware into the FCC, so here's hoping it's something exciting.
