Next ATI chipset has four pipelines, X600 like graphics
Looks like ATi is gearing up to give NVIDIA a run for their money in the integrated video motherboard chipset space. X600-like graphics on board; smells like it has HTPC all over it. The Inq posted the skinny on this yesterday but I was too lazy to snap this up at the time... sincere apologies. Really...
The next generation of chipsets will feature a new integrated core with four pixel pipelines and it should be relatively close to the X600 performance. It might end up a little bit slower due to slower memory performance from the integrated memory, but it should be in that range.
This new graphic core enslaved in ATI's future chipset should feature all you need for Longhorn, Vista operating system. Yes, it's pixel Shader 2.0+ capable as well.
