Nintendo SNES Classic Pre-Orders Coming Soon To Retail Giant Target
Nintendo is hyping up the impending release of its Super NES Classic Edition console, though this is the kind of thing that sells itself these days. Nostalgic gamers and scalpers looking to make a quick buck have already depleted Walmart of its initial inventory of pre-order units, and you can bet that other retailers will sell out of the console in the blink of an eye as well. Nevertheless, if you to give yourself a fighting shot, follow Target on Twitter (@AskTarget) to be one of the first to know when the retailer have stock available for pre-order.
Excited about SNES release this fall? Good news! We will have this item & it will be available for pre-orders! Get ready for Classic action.— AskTarget (@AskTarget) July 22, 2017
Unfortunately, Nintendo has a history of over promising and under delivering when it comes to these things. On top of that, the company refused to provide specifics on exactly how many SNES Classic Edition consoles it will produce. And to add further cause for concern, Nintendo is only committing to shipping the new console from September 29 until the end of 2017. That suggests to us that many fans are going to be disappointed once again.
The SNES Classic Edition is a miniature version of the original. It comes with 21 classic titles pre-loaded onto the system, including Super Mario World and Donkey Kong Country. This time around it will come with two controllers instead of one (as was the case with the NES Classic Edition), along with a lengthier 5-foot cord, USB power adapter, and an HDMI cable.
Pricing for the SNES Classic Edition is set at $80.
