No Man's Sky Heads To Xbox One As Devs Prep Massive Summer Update
The small team of developers at Hello Games is "working our socks off on the future of No Man's Sky," which includes a port to Microsoft's Xbox One consoles and a significant update to the core game called NEXT. The update, which is due out this summer, is a free release that Hello Games promises will be its biggest one to date, even more so than the Foundation Update that set the foundation to fix the many criticisms the game faced after it launched.
"We called our upcoming update “NEXT”, because it’s an important next step on a longer journey for us and the community. It will be our biggest update so far, and something we’ve been working ridiculously hard on. This will be free to existing players, and we’ll continue to support No Man’s Sky in this way for the foreseeable future," Hello Games co-founder Sean Murray said in a blog post.

"This team has never stopped running at sprint pace over the last few years, so perhaps it would have been tempting to stop there. Surprisingly though it had the opposite effect on us, and it emboldened us all to go further and faster," Murray added.
It's not clear what exactly NEXT will bring to the game. As for the release to Xbox One, this is something that has been "hotly requested," according to Murray. The port will arrive with the Foundation, Pathfinder, Atlas Rises, and NEXT updates on the day of release. It will also support 4K resolution and HDR visuals on the Xbox One X, essentially taking advantage of the console's highly touted capabilities.
