NVIDIA Announces New Flagship, GeForce GTX Titan Black
It’s hard to believe that it’s been a year since NVIDIA debuted its powerful Titan graphics card, but the months have sped by and now it’s time for the next generation of Titan GPUs--the NVIDIA GeForce GTX Titan Black.
We caught wind of the Titan Black card just a couple of weeks ago, and now NVIDIA is sharing more details. The GPU boasts 5.1 teraflops of performance, and with a pair of the beastly things in your system, you get 5,760 total cores.
The Titan Black shares a GK180 chip configuration with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 Ti and offers multi-display support with two DVI, one HDMI, and one DisplayPort ports. A leaked listing of an ASUS GeForce GTX Titan Black featured 6GB of GDDR5 memory for approximately $1,330, but NVIDIA’s base price for the new GPU is $999.
To go along with the NVIDIA release, many companies are making companion announcements. Zotac has a GTX Titan Black with 2,880 processor cores, 6GB GDDR5, 384-bit memory interface, 7000MHz memory clock, and a 889MHz base engine clock with 980MHz boost. The company also has new GTX 750 and GTX 750 Ti cards.
EVGA's base GTX Titan Black has virtually identical specs, although is actually has five Titan Black models including Superclocked and Hydro Copper editions.
Custom PC makers including CyberPowerPC, Digital Storm, Origin PC, and Velocity Micro are now offering NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750, 750 Ti, and Titan Black GPUs in some of their systems, too.
