NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti Full Specs Leak Ahead Of Spooktacular Halloween Debut
There have been multiple reports of NVIDIA readying a GeForce GTX 1070 Ti graphics card for a launch sometime later this month. While we generally take leaked info with a healthy dose of salt, what we have seen and heard leads us to believe this is real news. We are anxious to see what the final spec looks like, though in the meantime, a Chinese-language website has posted what it claims are all the vitals.
Assuming the information is accurate, the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti will wield a GP104 GPU, though it will be a different version than other cards based on the same chip. This particular variant, the GP104-300, has only one SM (streaming multiprocessor) disabled, which hints at it performing close to a GeForce GTX 1080. The chip's die measures 314mm2, same as the non-TI model, and is packed with 7.2 billion transistors.
Other juicy specs include 2,423 stream processors on 19 out of 20 enabled SM units, 152 TMUs (texture mapping units), 64 ROPs (raster output units), and 8GB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 8Gbps, resulting in 256GB/s of memory bandwidth. For the sake of comparison, the GeForce GTX 1080 has 2,560 stream processors, 160 TMUs, and the same number of ROPs, while the GeForce GTX 1070 has 1,920 stream processors, 120 TMUs, and also the same ROP count.
What about clockspeeds? According to the leaked info, the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti will have a 1,607MHz core clock (same as the GeForce GTX 1080, and higher than the 1,506MHz core clock on the GeForce GTX 1070) and a 1,683MHz boost clock (same as the GeForce GTX 1070, and lower than the 1,733MHz boost clock on the GeForce GTX 1080).
As for power, the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti has a 180W TDP, with power drawn from a single 8-pin PCIe connector. That is the same as a GeForce GTX 1080, and a little higher than the 150W TPD of the GeForce GTX 1070.
