NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti Rumored To Launch October 26

All signs are pointing to NVIDIA releasing a GeForce GTX 1070 Ti in less than a month. Just over a week ago, Gigabyte's Facebook page seemingly confirmed the existence of the graphics card, confirming earlier rumors. Now, a fresh report is suggesting that the card will launch just in time for Halloween.

According to NordicHardware, the GTX 1070 will launch on October 26^th, with Halloween arriving just a few days later on October 31^st. The publication also indicates that NVIDIA's board partners are far along in testing their own designs based around the chip, and will be ready to unleash a wave of new graphics cards.

So why exactly is NVIDIA releasing a GTX 1070 Ti over a year after Pascal was entered the retail space? Most people point to the excellent performance of the AMD Radeon RX Vega 56, which is priced at $399. Our own testing has shown that the Vega 56 is more than capable of outpacing the standard GTX 1070 in most gaming benchmarks. However, actually finding a Vega 56 in stock -- at MSRP -- is a completely different matter.

If NVIDIA can provide enough GTX 1070 Ti GPUs to its board partners with transaction prices hovering around the $400 mark for gamers, it could provide a powerful counterpunch to AMD's entry-level Vega graphics card.

Early rumors suggest that the GTX 1070 Ti will have 2432 CUDA cores, and will feature base and boost clocks of 1607MHz and 1683MHz respectively. Cards based around this rejiggered GPU will also come equipped with 8GB GDDR5 memory.  When it comes to performance, the GTX 1070 Ti is expected to fit in squarely between the GTX 1070 and the GTX 1080.
