NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Super Rumored For November 22nd Launch
It's incredibly tough to keep a secret from the Internet at large. Just ask NVIDIA, which is getting ready to launch Super variants of its GeForce GTX 1660 and GeForce GTX 1650. As it pertains to the latter, rumor has it NVIDIA will formally introduce the GeForce GTX 1650 Super to public on November 22, roughly a month after the GeForce GTX 1660 Super makes its debut on October 29.
Neither of these dates have been officially announced, mind you, but they are at least plausible time frames. Reviewers and members of the media typically receive this kind of information ahead of time, albeit under embargo. Even though that is the case, however, leaks inevitably happen.
That appears to the be the situation here. The folks at Videocardz claim "NVIDIA has revealed to the press" the launch dates above. It's likely one of the site's sources shared a press deck or just the launch info with the site. I can't say for sure because I am not privy to NVIDIA's official plans. But given all the recent leaks, I'd say the launch dates are either right on the money, or at least close to accurate.
Some specifications have been leaked as well. The GeForce GTX 1650 Super is said to feature 4GB of GDDR6 memory at 12Gbps, up from 4GB of GDDR5 memory at 8Gbps on the non-Super model. It will retain the same 128-bit memory bus, but due to the faster memory chips, bandwidth gets bumped from 128GB/s to 192GB/s.
It remains to be seen what the MSRP will end up being. As we reported on yesterday, it's said the GeForce GTX 1660 Super will debut at $229, which is just $10 above the non-Super variant. If that is the case, the GeForce GTX 1650 Super will likely see a minimal premium attached as well.
This is notable because the GeForce RTX 2060 Super debuted at a $50 premium over the non-Super model, at $399 (versus $349).
