NVIDIA Shield Gaming Tablet Gains 4G LTE and 32GB Of Storage, Shipping Now For $399
If you somehow resisted buying an NVIDIA Shield gaming tablet earlier this year, you're in luck: there's a better model ready for your hard-earned dollars. The Android-based, gaming-centric slate is now available with 32GB of storage as well as a 4G LTE radio, with pre-orders open today. It's selling for $100 more than the basic $299 Shield (which is still available, by the way), which offers 16GB of onboard storage and Wi-Fi. Twice the storage and the ability to get online while on the road is a big deal for gamers. Some may argue that this should've been on the original, but hey, better late than never.
As a refresher, the upgraded Shield still packs a Tegra K1 chip, and the new LTE edition is certified for use on AT&T. Plus, AT&T customers can receive a $100 bill credit when they activate their SHIELD tablet on qualifying plans at an AT&T store or by calling 866-662-4548. If you're already an AT&T user, you can add the LTE Shield to your Mobile Share Value plan for $10/month.
