NVIDIA Teases TITAN X Collector's Edition Enthusiast Graphics Card On YouTube
You'll need a quick eye, or use YouTube's slow-motion controls, to see what NVIDIA is teasing. In this case, if you focus on the 0:11 mark on the video, you'll see that NVIDIA is releasing a TITAN X Collector's Edition. And given the fury of colors that is swirling around the card, you can see that it is light up with RGB LEDs, which should be customizable to suit your gaming rig. It's interesting to note that two cards are shown -- one lit in red and the other in green -- which could be a reference to the long-running graphics battle between AMD (team red) and NVIDIA (team green).
NVIDIA's board partners often doll up their Pascal-based graphics cards with RGB lighting, but NVIDIA usually avoids adopting such superficial flourishes on its Founders Edition graphics cards.
Unfortunately, that's all we have to go on. No word about specs, availability or pricing. But for those keeping score, here are the specs of the current, "top dog" Titan Xp:
- 12GB GDDR5X memory operating at 11.4 Gbps
- Maximum memory bandwidth of 548Gbps
- 3,840 CUDA cores running at a clock speed of 1.6GHz
- 12 TFLOPs of compute power
That graphics card is available for $1,200 direct from NVIDIA. We hope that the TITAN X Collector's Edition will bring more to the table than just some fancy RGB lighting, so hopefully we'll see some bumps to memory capacity/speed/type or even faster GPU clocks to justify the label.
