Oculus Rift Makers Launch Oculus Share (Beta) Gaming Marketplace

There’s no doubt that the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset is cool, but today the team took things a step further by launching the beta version of a gaming marketplace called Oculus Share. Oculus VR describes Oculus Share as “a new platform that lets you self-publish, discover, download, and play the best VR games and experiences out there”, which essentially makes it a playground for developers and early adopters. Eventually, Share will be more of an app store for everyday Oculus Rift users, too.

Share lets developers host games and “experiences”, and users can browse and download content from other developers, rate experiences, and offer feedback. Login credentials for the Developer Center will get you into Share.

Oculus VR will vet submissions to keep Share clean from riffraff, and the team asks for patience in sifting through all of the early submissions. These are exciting times for virtual reality.
