OCZ Technology Adopts New Enhanced Performance Profiles for New Line of NVIDIA SLI-Certified Memory Modules

NVIDIA and OCZ Technology Cooperate in Bringing New High-Performance Memory Specification to Market

Sunnyvale, CA - May 22, 2006 - OCZ Technology Group, a worldwide leader in innovative, ultra-high performance and high reliability memory, is pleased to announce the design and development of a unique line SLI-Ready memory modules with Enhanced Performance Profiles (EPP), which will provide today's enthusiasts with memory solutions that exceed the performance capabilities of all other previous offerings. With a long history of providing the most innovative products to the performance-minded gaming and enthusiast community, OCZ has adopted the new EPP open memory specification announced by NVIDIA to produce a new class of PC technology that delivers enhanced overall system performance due to a symbiotic relationship between OCZ modules and the NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI media and communications processor (MCP).

The mission of Enhanced Performance Profiles is to offer optimized system operation and compatibility through the collaboration and integration of OCZ configured SPD (Serial Presence Detect) settings and BIOS designs on NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI-based motherboards. OCZ exclusively engineered select high-performance modules with advanced SPD settings to allow compatible motherboards to recognize and utilize the added information, ultimately increasing the performance potential of the entire platform. Only motherboards equipped with the custom-designed BIOS, such as those designed for NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI MCPs, can detect the optimized SPD profiles of the EPP-based modules and ensure the memory functions under the best possible conditions.

While still complying with standard JEDEC memory specifications, OCZ modules with Enhanced Performance Profiles go above and beyond conventional SPD settings by incorporating additional valuable data that affects memory performance, including variables such as command rate and memory voltage. These additions to the SPD specifications take out the guesswork and provide enthusiasts and gamers with significant overclocked performance.  READ MORE...
