OCZ's Do-It-Yourself Gaming Notebook Available

You'll recall when OCZ unveiled their Do-It-Yourself Gaming Notebook, they left out an important thing: when. But you can buy the bare-bones version of the laptop now (at least, if you hurry), courtesy of Buy.com.

At least at the time of this writing (Buy.com says they are almost out-of-stock) you can get the bare-bones version for $669 (after $50 mail-in-rebate); shipping is free.  Yes, yes, don't forget the sales tax if you "qualify!"

Building your own gaming desktop can be complicated and meticulous so who would think that building your own gaming notebook would be any easier or even possible. OCZ introduces this exciting initiative to the enthusiast, gamer, and IT professional with the new Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Gaming Notebooks. Designed to make it easier than ever for consumers to take full advantage of the benefits of building their very own gaming notebook, OCZ's DIY program is one-of-a-kind, and allows consumers to build a truly high performance notebook with their own ideal configuration in just a few easy to follow steps.

The rebate only lasts until 6/11, so if you think you can beat the price on the "missing" components yourself, or just enjoy building things, you'd better get moving.
