Can You Match The Shot In OnePlus 6 Camera Battle Vs iPhone X, Pixel 2, And Galaxy S9?
Do you think you have a strong eye for photography? OnePlus aims to put that to the test as part of a clever (and fun) marketing strategy to promote the upcoming launch of its next flagship phone, the OnePlus 6. The company has assembled a collection of photographs taken with the OnePlus 6, iPhone X, Samsung Galaxy S9, and Pixel 2, and is asking users to vote on the best one in each category.
"With the OnePlus 6, we'll let the images do the talking. The best in the world—the OnePlus 6, iPhone X, Samsung Galaxy S9, and Google Pixel 2 will be put to the test," OnePlus explains.
It's an interesting promotion by OnePlus, and certainly unique. There is also an element of risk on the company's part, as this is a subjective test. What might look the best to one person could look second-best (or even the worst) to another. However, the bigger point OnePlus is trying to make is that the OnePlus 6 can hang with the cream of the crop, in terms of photography—if you have trouble picking out a photo in each category, it plays to the company's point.
These are all capable phones. We ran our own camera shootout between the Galaxy S9+ and Pixel 2 XL a couple of months ago, and found they both excelled in different areas. You can check it out here.
As for the OnePlus 6, rumor has it the phone will arrive with a dual camera arrangement on the rear, one that couples a 20-megapixel sensor with an f/1.7 aperture with a 16-megapixel sensor. A 16-megapixel shooter is said to be on the front as well. Other rumored specs include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 6GB or 8GB of RAM, up to 256GB of onboard storage, and Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.
OnePlus is scheduled to launch the OnePlus 6 on May 16.
