OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition Leaks With Speed Orange Highlights And 10GB RAM
Late last month, we reported that OnePlus was working in conjunction with sports car manufacturer McLaren to create a special version of the newly released OnePlus 6T. Today, we're getting our first look at the device: the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition.
Promotional images of the device have turned up online and they show that the actual design of the McLaren Edition hasn't changed compared to its donor platform. However, there are highlights around the edges of the device that are finished in Speed Orange. The particular shade of orange should be instantly familiar to those that follow McLaren's road cars. In addition, there's a textured carbon fiber finish lurking beneath the glass backplate.
The only spec changed -- compared to the standard OnePlus 6T -- is that the McLaren Edition offers up a whopping 10GB of RAM. This is an upgrade from the 8GB typically found in flagship Android phones (and the current high-end OnePlus 6T). With that being said, all other specs would be familiar including a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 256GB of onboard storage, a 6.41-inch FHD+ display, dual rear cameras (carryovers from the OnePlus 6), and a 16MP selfie camera nestled within the "teardrop" notch in the display.
You will also find a capacious 3,700 mAh battery and an in-display fingerprint reader, which is becoming more prevalent on flagship Android phones. If you're looking for a 3.5mm jack, you won't find one even though OnePlus as recently as this year championed the port and mocked competitors for ditching it. Funny how times change...

One other item of note; the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition will reportedly come equipped with what's called Warp Charge 30. Where's assuming that this is a special charger that will provide a "day's power in 20 minutes". The device will be officially revealed on October 11th, but we'll definitely keep our eyes peeled for any additional leaks between now and then.
