OnePlus 7 Pro: A Beastly SD855 Flagship With Triple Cams, 90Hz Display, Huge Battery And A Great Price Tag
This beast of a smartphone pairs the Snapdragon 855 with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of ultra-fast UFS 3.0 internal storage. Up front, you have a nearly bezel-free display design thanks to the fact that the OnePlus 7 Pro uses a motorized pop-up 16MP selfie camera that hides away when not in use. The pop-up mechanism presents in 0.53 seconds and is incredibly durable (OnePlus showed a 40-pound weight being hung from the mechanism without failing).
Speaking of the display, the HDR10+ panel measures 6.67 inches with a resolution of 3120x1440 and has double-curved edges. OnePlus is also touting the fact that it is using a 90Hz panel to deliver smoother visuals, especially when gaming. However, the faster refresh rate should also translate into buttery smooth transitions even when navigating the Android UI (aka Oxygen OS). OnePlus has also implemented what it calls the Horizon Light, which lights up the edges of the display with a blue light (when the display is off) to let you know that you have a notification.
On the back of the device, OnePlus has included three cameras: primary (48MP Sony IMX586, f/1.6, OIS), wide-angle (16MP, f/2.2) and 3x telephoto (8MP, f/2.4, OIS) sensors. OnePlus is quite proud of the camera system in the OnePlus 7 Pro, and says that it has earned the second highest score every obtain with DxOMark.
Other features include a massive 4,000 mAh battery with Warp Charge 30; a 20-minute charge will take you from 0% to 50%. Dual Dolby-tuned speakers are now included to enhance your gaming experience as well as a 10-layer liquid cooling system to keep SoC temperatures in check during intense gaming sessions.
The OnePlus 7 Pro starts at an incredible $669 for 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The mid-range option features 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The flagship model comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage for $749 -- or the same price as a budget iPhone XR or Samsung Galaxy S10e. It will be available this Friday at OnePlus.com or from T-Mobile store in Nebula Blue, Mirror Grey and Almond finishes.
