At this point, we know that OnePlus is poised to launch its flagship OnePlus 7 phones on May 14th. Over the past few weeks, OnePlus has been teasing features of the phones, with that latest coming via a tweet.

The latest teaser shows a line art drawing of the OnePlus 7 Pro with three vertically-aligned rear cameras. This lines up with previous reports and leaked renders of the OnePlus 7 Pro. The lesser, "standard" OnePlus 7 is expected to soldier on with a dual camera setup on the rear.

It's likely that OnePlus is destined to add an ultra-wide-angle camera to the mix with the OnePlus 7 Pro (in addition to the primary and telephoto cameras), although we'd like to see some improvements to overall image quality to bring the cameras up to par with the class-leading Pixel 3. Additional cameras are great, but we'd appreciate greater image fidelity even more.

OnePlus has stated that the OnePlus 7 Series “marks the pinnacle of our dedication to craftsmanship and passion for creating breakthrough technologies.”

The OnePlus 7 Pro is expected to launch with a 90Hz display panel, which would put it ahead of traditional smartphone panels which top out at 60Hz. This should provide for a faster and smoother experience when scrolling through the UI and when gaming, however, it won't be as fast as 120Hz panels found on the Razer Phone and Razer Phone 2.

In addition, the OnePlus 7 Pro will have a notchless display thanks to a pop-up selfie camera and an in-display fingerprint reader. Other niceties include a 4000 mAh battery, Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC and optional 5G connectivity courtesy of a Qualcomm Snapdragon X50 5G modem. The standard OnePlus 7 is expected have a smaller display with a teardrop notch.

Stay tuned for more information from OnePlus (and leaks) as we get closer to the mid-May launch.
