Aggressively Priced OnePlus One Smartphone Available Tomorrow Sans Invite

You may recall that the only way to pick up a OnePlus One handset after it launched last year was through an invitation system. That's how it remained for several months, up until the latter part of 2014, in which OnePlus allowed a handful of limited time free-for-all sales. Now once again, you'll have a limited window to purchase one, if you're still interested.

There's a countdown timer on the OnePlus One's website that displays the days, hours, and minutes remaining until the event kicks off on January 20, 2015 (that's tomorrow, folks!). Once the event begins, the OnePlus One will be available to anyone and everyone to purchase, though the window to buy one without an invitation will only last two hours.

The two-hour window runs from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM EST in North America (4:00 PM to 6:00 PM PST), 19:00 to 21:00 GMT in Europe, and 19:00 to 21:00 HKT in Asia. The question is, do you want one?

Pricing will start at $299 for the 16GB Silk White OnePlus One, while the 64GB Sandstone Black SKU will go for $349. Both models sport a 5.5-inch display with a Full HD 1080p (1920x1080) resolution (401 ppi), Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz, Adreno 330 graphics, 3GB of RAM, 5MP front facing camera, 13MP rear facing camera, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and a few other odds and ends.

Of course, the real draw with the OnePlus One is that it runs a custom Android ROM developed by famed modder CyanogenMod. It contains oodles of optimizations and gives the user greater control over the Android experience. CyanogenMod is also fairly quick to push out updates as new Android versions materialize, the latest being Android 5.0 Lollipop.
